Kasmir Associates are recruiting for a growing construction and maintenance company.
We are seeking an experienced Scaffolding Estimator to join a growing commercial and industrial construction company. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong scaffolding background who is confident in both site-based assessment and office-based estimating work.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits (approximately 40% of the role) to assess requirements, take measurements, and gather all relevant project information and price up jobs
- Meet clients and contractors to discuss project scopes and technical details.
- Prepare detailed bid documents, tenders, and quotations for industrial and commercial scaffolding projects ranging from small-scale to substantial contracts.
- Review drawings, specifications, and site data to produce accurate cost estimates.
- Using Smart Estimator software.
- Liaise with the operations team to ensure smooth handovers and clarity on project delivery requirements.
- Compile and review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) as part of tender submissions.
- Use Microsoft Excel and company estimating software to prepare costings and proposals.
- Analyse and negotiate supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitiveness.
- Support business development activities by identifying and pursuing new tender opportunities.
- Maintain and develop strong client and supplier relationships to secure repeat business.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in scaffolding estimation within industrial and commercial construction sector (essential)
- Previous hands‑on scaffolding experience (preferred).
- Strong understanding of scaffolding systems, commercial pricing, and tender processes.
- Ability to produce high‑quality bid and tender documents.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general estimating (ideally Smart Estimator).
- Knowledge of RAMS and health & safety requirements.
