Job summary

A major UK utility provider is seeking an Operational Telecoms Project Engineer to oversee SCADA projects and manage telecoms equipment. You will ensure network reliability and develop SCADA design standards. The role involves configuration, testing, integration, and training for SMART Grid solutions, along with collaboration across departments. Additionally, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring 24/7 operational availability within specified regions. Competitive salary of £80,574 with a 3% bonus and additional benefits apply.

Qualifications

  • Educated to HND / HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Membership of a professional body such as the IET or working towards membership.
  • Experience working with CDM regulations and ISO9001 quality processes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver SCADA projects, fault rectification, and maintenance within the team.
  • Oversee implementation projects for transition to Distribution System Operator.
  • Communicate with suppliers for development of products and fault resolution.

Skills

In-depth knowledge of Networks SCADA
Experience working with CDM regulations
Ability to work with EHV / HV switchgear
Capable of understanding schematic diagrams
Experience of SMART grid projects
Knowledge of IP and SCADA protocols

Education

HND / HNC level in relevant engineering discipline
Membership of a professional body (IET)
