Overview

We are excited to announce an opening for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, you will be responsible for providing continuing and comprehensive medical care and health maintenance to a panel of senior-age patients. IMA’s Nurse Practitioner exercises outstanding diagnostic services, concern for their patients, and provide them with appropriate healthcare services that meet state and national standards of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interviews, examines, and diagnoses patients during routine check-ups and for injuries and illnesses.
  • Orders appropriate diagnostic tests, interprets results, and communicates appropriate treatment options to patients. May refer the patient to a medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.
  • Reviews and maintains patients\' records and medical histories in a timely fashion and records progress.
  • May perform minor surgical procedures such as wound care, suturing, joint aspirations and injections, and administering immunizations.
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions. Discusses potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients and ensures that all allergy information is up-to-date before prescribing.
  • Provides education and counseling to patients and their families that may improve their health or help treat the health issue they are experiencing.
  • Accurately records correct healthcare diagnoses to ensure correct billing.
  • May order or assist in ordering medical supplies and equipment.
  • Stays current on the latest medical research, practices, and procedures impacting family medicine.
  • Adheres to departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
  • Completes administrative assignments as requested by the Medical Director and partners with providers within the practice to ensure a collaborative environment.
  • Actively participates in monthly provider team meetings and performance reviews with the Medical Director.
Requirements

Required

  • Fully state-licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), or a Physician Assistant license.
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS)
  • EMR experience
  • 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner working as a primary care provider in an outpatient office setting

  • Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • eClinicalWorks experience
  • Managed Care experience
