Job summary

A marine engineering company based in Greater London is looking for a Sales Engineer to achieve sales targets and secure business opportunities in the Marine and Oil & Gas industries. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Strong customer management skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential. The position requires occasional overseas travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Marine / Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience with ship owners or ship management companies is advantageous.
• Strong track record in sales account management.

Job Description

• Achieve sales targets set by the company.
• Visit both new and existing customers to promote and secure business opportunities.
• Collaborate with the Commercial Department to ensure timely preparation and delivery of quotations.
• Assist in the preparation of quotations when required.
• Coordinate with the Finance Department to ensure timely collection of payments from customers.
• Monitor market trends and competitors’ activities closely.
• Submit weekly sales reports and monthly sales plans to the Managing Director.
• Attend customer meetings after office hours when necessary.
• Maintain a strong customer focus by proactively addressing and resolving customer issues or concerns.
• Any other duties assigned by the Management, your superior or any of his duly authorized officers as and when necessary.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Marine / Oil & Gas industry. Experience working with ship owners, ship superintendents or ship management companies is highly advantageous.
• Strong customer relationship management and communication skills.
• Curious and analytical mindset with the ability to understand products and services thoroughly.
• Team player with excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Proven track record in sales account management and consistently achieving sales targets.
• Responsible, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure.
• Willing to travel overseas on short notice.
