Location: Bury St Edmunds

A growing and highly respected organisation is seeking a proactive and detail-driven Sales Administrator to join its commercial team. This position is critical in supporting the full sales cycle, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring operations run smoothly across the department. You will act as a central link between sales, customers, and internal teams while also providing valuable marketing support.

This role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Process Support
  • Support the sales team throughout the complete sales cycle, including lead-generation assistance and post-sale follow‑up.
  • Prepare and process sales orders, quotes, proposals, and contracts with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Liaise with internal teams such as operations, finance, and engineering to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
  • Track and monitor order progress, providing timely updates to the sales team and customers.
  • Assist in preparing materials for presentations, meetings, and industry events.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Act as a first point of contact for day‑to‑day customer enquiries.
  • Resolve routine customer issues and escalate more complex matters where necessary.
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships through timely and effective communication.
Data Management & Reporting
  • Keep CRM records accurate, organised, and up to date.
  • Support sales forecasting and help identify opportunities to improve process efficiency.
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Coordinate sales team calendars, schedule meetings, and arrange travel when needed.
  • Organise and maintain accessible digital and physical filing systems.
  • Carry out general administrative tasks to support department efficiency.
Product & Market Knowledge
  • Build a strong understanding of company products, services, and pricing.
  • Stay informed on market conditions, competitor activity, and industry trends.
Experience & Skills Required
  • 13 years' experience in sales support, administration, or customer service within a fast‑paced environment.
  • CRM experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational ability with high attention to detail.
  • Confident problem‑solver with a proactive, resourceful approach.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Customer‑focused with a collaborative team‑oriented mindset.
  • Able to adapt quickly and manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable reading and understanding technical documents and drawings.
  • Capable of managing several tasks simultaneously and working to deadlines.
  • Professional, reliable, punctual, and able to represent the company positively.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for business needs.
