Amersham Health Centre has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated salaried GP (maternity cover) to join our dynamic, progressive, and supportive practice from February 2026. As a Salaried GP, you will provide high-quality medical care to patients, ensuring services align with primary care contracts. Your responsibilities will include managing acute and chronic conditions, prescribing in line with national guidelines, and handling administrative tasks such as referrals and prescriptions. You will participate in telephone triage and duty doctor roles on a rotational basis, maintain accurate clinical records, and adhere to best practices and audit recommendations.
Additionally, you will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, support QOF targets, and take on delegated responsibilities within the practice. You will attend practice meetings, engage in clinical governance, and participate in medical student training. Ensuring compliance with appraisals and professional development, you will also collaborate with the wider team to enhance service delivery, financial sustainability, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Provide high-quality, patient-centered medical care in line with NHS guidelines and best practices.
Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations, diagnosing and treating a range of medical conditions.
Prescribe medication and treatment plans in accordance with clinical guidelines.
Manage long-term conditions and provide proactive, preventative healthcare.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, pharmacists, and healthcare assistants.
Participate in clinical meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Support and mentor junior staff and trainees, if applicable.
