A luxury fashion brand in Leeds is seeking an RTR Finance Manager to oversee finance and accounting tasks. This full-time role is based in the Leeds office for at least 3 days per week.

Qualifications

Job description
Overview

As the RTR Finance Manager - Americas at Burberry, you'll oversee the completion of finance and accounting tasks within the RTR Centre of Excellence for the Americas region. You will deliver high quality financial information, compliance and controls, connect with stakeholders to understand commercial priorities and challenges, and develop solutions to improve processes for more efficient ways of working. You will manage and lead a team of Accountants and Senior Accountants in all aspects of the month end process, ensuring resources and skills are allocated effectively while encouraging professional development and a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead a high performing team of Accountants and Senior Accountants, ensuring resource levels, capacity and skills are aligned with operational delivery of accounting processes and reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with Burberry policies and SLAs, including operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, anticipating and responding to needs to inform and develop mutually agreeable solutions
  • Understand wider business priorities and ways of working, using this to drive simplification, standardisation and automation to deliver more effective, efficient and robust ways of working
  • Effectively manage change by identifying opportunities aligned with Finance team and wider business objectives, facilitating implementation, monitoring and improving results
  • Encourage issue identification, implementing corrective and preventive action plans to resolve and mitigate problems
  • Deputise for the Senior Manager to lead discussions on a broader department level as needed
Qualifications
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 1 year PQE
  • Experience in a similar supervisory/management role in a large, corporate business, ideally within a Shared Service Centre environment with an international remit
  • Demonstrable people management experience, across hiring, training and retaining finance talent. Able to provide examples of effective leadership and getting the best out of people, including during demanding periods
  • Technical, hands on accounting knowledge applying IFRS or local GAAP
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence and build effective relationships to drive collaboration
  • Track record and appetite for delivering continuous improvement
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) essential

Role Details

This RTR Finance Manager - Americas role is offered on a full time, permanent basis and will be based in our Queen Street, Leeds office for a minimum of 3 days per week.
