Overview

Royalties Analyst | Award-Winning Film & Distribution Business | London (hybrid)

Harmonic is delighted to be working with a well-regarded, international film business in their search for a Royalties Analyst, which is a newly created role. This is an opportunity to join a close-knit team, who value progression opportunity and collaborative work.

The Client

This creative business has produced some of the most celebrated titles in the industry, with a history of international success and a reputation for high-quality, culturally significant work.

Having recently expanded into high-end television drama, the company is entering a dynamic new phase with several exciting projects in development. With production activity set to increase over the coming years, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business at the heart of the entertainment industry.

The Role

This is a newly created role in a close-knit finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with international colleagues. The position has been designed to bring structure, accuracy, and efficiency to the company’s royalties and distribution reporting.

The role will initially focus on bringing statements up to date and ensuring smooth processing of royalties across both UK and international markets. You will play a vital role in liaising with the International Sales Team in France, supporting the transfer and consolidation of information between offices. Alongside this, you’ll contribute to the month-end process, help reduce financial backlogs, and support ongoing improvements to systems and reporting workflows.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with a background in royalties, distribution, or entertainment (film or music), offering exposure to a broad range of activities and the chance to work across international finance operations.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare quarterly royalties statements and bi-annual talent statements.
  • Review royalties statements received from HQ, reworking to include UK sales fees and onward reporting to Collection Agents.
  • Prepare monthly income accruals for International Sales and for income from Collection Agents not yet received.
  • Raise invoices relating to sales and royalties receivable.
  • Support in managing financial backlogs and ensuring all royalties statements are up to date.
  • Liaise with the international sales teams to ensure seamless data transfer and reporting.
  • Assist with month-end processes, posting to ledgers accurately and on time.
  • Support ongoing process improvements, including the use of Sun Systems and reporting enhancements.
What we need to see (essential)
  • Previous experience in royalties or distribution reporting.
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, data manipulation).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a process-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in liaising with international teams.
What we’d like to see
  • Experience using Sun Systems.
  • Exposure to royalties within the film or music industry (ideally film/distribution).
  • Confidence managing large data sets and clearing historical backlogs.
  • Comfortable working in a small, collaborative, and fast-paced team environment.
