Overview

Are you an accomplished Room Leader or an experienced Early Years Educator seeking the next step in your career? Long Term Futures is looking for a motivated professional to lead a committed team within a wonderful primary school in Claygate, KT10. This school is well-known for its supportive culture and commitment to children's welfare.

If you have a Level 3 Childcare or Early Years Qualification (such as a Diploma in Childcare and Education or Diploma for Early Years Educators) and the proven ability to guide and inspire others, this could be your next ideal challenge! This long-term position offers the possibility of a permanent contract, making it a truly rewarding opportunity.

The Role and Responsibilities

This is a full-time Room Leader role that is crucial to the school\'s wrap-around care, with shifts between 7:30 AM and 6:30 PM. As a key part of the friendly nursery team, you will not only offer high-quality daily care and supervision but also lead your room with clear direction and enthusiasm.

You\'ll work closely with the Nursery Teacher, devising and delivering engaging educational activities and ensuring a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for all children. The school has fantastic outdoor spaces and a forest school, perfect for enriching Early Years exploration and discovery.

Your main leadership duties will include:

  • Guiding, mentoring, and motivating your room team to provide exceptional early years provision.
  • Supervising the planning and execution of engaging and age-appropriate educational activities that follow the EYFS framework.
  • Ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of your room, maintaining the highest standards of care, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Carrying out observations and assessments, contributing to children\'s learning and development journeys.
  • Building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Helping with daily routines, including meals, snacks, and personal care.
  • Upholding the school\'s values and dedication to children\'s well-being.
What We're Looking For

Qualifications: A Level 3 Childcare or Level 3 Early Years Qualification is essential, such as a Diploma in Childcare and Education or Diploma for Early Years Educators.

Experience: Proven experience as a Room Leader or a senior Early Years Educator with demonstrable leadership skills in an Early Years or nursery setting.

Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational abilities. A genuine passion for nurturing young children, creativity, patience, and a proactive, collaborative approach to teamwork.

Salary and Benefits

Day Rate: 120 - 140 a day (depending on experience and shifts). Contract: Long-term with the potential for a permanent position. Start Date: ASAP
