Risk and Compliance Associate | Historic Law Firm | London (WC2A) | £60k-£70k with hybrid working

Our client, a highly respected and long-established law firm based in central London, is seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance Associate to join their busy but welcoming team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a top-tier practice known for delivering exceptional services to both private and commercial clients, with particular expertise across family and private client work.

The successful candidate will bring a minimum of five years’ experience in a risk and compliance role within a Legal 500-ranked law firm. This role offers the chance to take on a wide variety of responsibilities, supporting both the firm’s operational needs and regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Handling complaints, SRA enquiries, investigations, and data subject access requests
  • Supporting anti-money laundering and sanctions processes, including suspicious activity reporting
  • Developing and delivering training sessions, including inductions
  • Drafting and maintaining policies, retainer documents, and registers
  • Managing file audits, preparing reports, and creating project plans
  • Supporting client due diligence and operational issues as they arise
  • Staying abreast of regulatory and legislative developments

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive individual with a strong commercial mindset and exceptional communication skills. You will have a sound understanding of anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, data protection, sanctions, and the SRA Standards and Regulations. The ability to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential.
