Job description

On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Risk Analyst for a 6 month contract based Swindon, Bristol or Cardiff 3 day a week in the office.

This role is working on the Wales and Western Rail Capital Projects Programme.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and deliver Cost and Schedule Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) using @Risk and Safran to model uncertainty and provide probabilistic forecasts.
  • Maintain and govern risk registers, ensuring risks from workshops and interviews are accurately captured, updated, and aggregated for escalation where necessary.
  • Lead risk workshops and stakeholder interviews to identify, assess, and prioritise risks across major projects and programmes.
  • Analyse risk data to produce clear, actionable reports and executive briefings, supporting strategic decision‑making and governance boards.
  • Collaborate with managers and risk practitioners to embed risk management practices and ensure alignment across portfolios.
  • Drive continuous improvement in risk frameworks, tools, and methodologies, providing training and mentoring to project teams.
Essential
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills with experience in major project environments (Construction or Infrastructure).
  • Proficiency in risk management tools including @Risk, Safran Risk, and data analytics platforms.
  • Ability to translate complex risk data into clear insights for senior leadership.
Desirable
  • Network Rail Experience.
