A healthcare organization in Ashton-under-Lyne is seeking a Retail Supervisor to oversee daily operations and ensure excellent customer service. Responsibilities include managing the retail team, handling customer inquiries and complaints, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Band 3 - 37.5 hours per week
A Retail Supervisor is a key link between management and sales staff, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a store or department, ensuring excellent customer service, and managing a team to meet sales targets. They effectively manage the shop floor and may act as the person in charge in the manager's absence.
Staff Management: Supervise, motivate, train, and mentor the retail team. This includes planning work schedules, assigning duties, and assisting with the recruitment and performance management of new staff.
Customer Service: Ensure that all customers receive prompt service and that their inquiries, complaints, or issues are resolved in a professional and timely manner.
Store Operations: Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring health and safety standards are met.
Please note that, whilst the Trust does offer sponsorship, this role is unfortunately not eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Health and Care Worker visa route. This is due to the position not meeting the minimum salary threshold of £25,000 per annum and/or the required skill level set by UK Visas and Immigration. The postholder is responsible for ensuring the provision of the Trust Retail Catering Service to high standard on a day-to-day basis. They assist (where appropriate) the Retail Manager and Head Chef with the operational activities within the other sections of the Catering Department.
A key responsibility is ensuring that all activity carried out within the retail section of the Catering Department respects the legal requirements of Food Safety legislation and HACCP. The postholder will be expected to lead by example and promote excellent customer service daily.
The post holder must be commercially aware, with the presence and personality to influence day-to-day business, as well as being forward-thinking and actively seeking to drive the business forward.
