Retail Store Assistant (with Keyholder Responsibility)

£12.21 per hour plus benefits

Reports to: Shop Manager

Department: Trading

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Sundays only, 6 hours

Location: Minehead

Closing date: Sunday 18th May 2025 23:55 (may close earlier if filled)

Role Summary: We’re seeking a motivated retail assistant to join our trading team, acting as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK and taking responsibility for the shop on Sundays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee shop operations on Sundays, including keyholder duties (training provided) and supporting volunteers.
• Assist in achieving sales and fundraising targets.
• Review and process donated goods and stock.
• Generate creative ideas to increase income, with guidance from the Shop Manager.
• Provide excellent customer service to supporters and customers.
• Maintain shop standards regarding safeguarding, compliance, and health & safety.
• Perform manual handling and physical activities as required.

Candidate Requirements:

• Knowledge of excellent customer service skills.
• Experience working in lively, vibrant environments.
• Adaptability and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commercial awareness.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Flexibility to work on a rota basis, respecting work-life balance.
