Lime Talent is working on behalf of a premium grocery business to recruit a Grocery Buyer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who lives and breathes food — a passionate foodie with a sharp commercial mindset and a deep appreciation for quality, sustainability, and innovation.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of a defined product category, shaping its future through strategic buying, supplier partnerships, and range development. You’ll be part of a dynamic, mission‑led team that’s committed to delivering exceptional products while making a positive impact on the food industry.

Responsability
  1. Deliver commercial performance across your category, including sales, margin, and profitability
  2. Use market and competitor insights to inform category strategy and identify growth opportunities
  3. Drive range development through product launches, delists, and innovation
  4. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including regular visits and joint business planning
  5. Collaborate with supply chain, marketing, technical, and sustainability teams to ensure seamless execution
  6. Develop promotional plans and work with trading teams to maximise impact
  7. Make sourcing decisions with sustainability and ethical impact front of mind
Qualifications
  • Previous buying experience, ideally within grocery or FMCG categories
  • A genuine passion for food and the food industry
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • A keen eye for detail and product quality
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
