A day in the life of…

As the hotel's Resturant Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food and beverage operations. This includes recruiting. managing staff, ensuring high levels of customer service, developing menus, maintaining inventory and budgets, and enforcing health and safety regulations. The manager must also monitor industry trends, analyse sales and financial reports, and work with marketing and sales teams to promote the hotel's food and beverage offerings. The role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and organisational skills, as well as a deep knowledge of food and beverage industry standards and best practices.

What do we need from you?
  • Proven experience as a restaurant manager or similar role in a hotel or restaurant setting with a strong knowledge of food service and delivery and a willingness to continually develop your skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions from senior management.
  • Good communication skills, willingness to work as part of a team, and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • You’ll have strong communication skills and the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organised dining area

The restaurant manager is responsible for the overall smooth operation of a restaurant, overseeing staff, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring financial success. Key responsibilities include managing staff through scheduling, training, and motivation, overseeing operations such as inventory, budgets, and cleanliness, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, handling customer service and complaints, and developing menus.

Staff Management
  • Recruitment and Training: Hiring new staff, onboarding them, and providing ongoing training to ensure a skilled and motivated team.
  • Scheduling: Creating and managing staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Motivation and Leadership: Inspiring and motivating staff to deliver excellent customer service and meet sales targets, often by leading by example.
Operations Management
  • Inventory and Stock Control: Monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, managing relationships with food and drink suppliers, and reducing waste.
  • Budgeting and Finances: Managing budgets, controlling costs, and working to achieve revenue and profit targets.
  • Maintenance and Cleanliness: Overseeing the cleanliness and general maintenance of the restaurant and ensuring equipment is in good working order.
Customer and Service
  • Customer Experience: Ensuring high standards of customer service are maintained, and that guests have a positive experience.
  • Handling Complaints: Effectively managing and resolving customer complaints and queries to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Menu Planning: Working with the kitchen team to plan and develop menus and specials.
Compliance and Safety
  • Health and Safety: Ensuring the restaurant complies with all health, hygiene, and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment for staff and customers.
  • Licensing and Regulations: Ensuring the restaurant adheres to all licensing laws and other legal requirements.
Reporting and Strategy
  • Performance Analysis: Preparing reports on sales, food costs, staff performance, and other key metrics to track business performance.
  • Marketing: Implementing marketing activities, such as promotions, in line with company policy to drive sales and attract customers.
