Restaurant Reception Host – New Opening

Salary: £35,000 per annum
Location: Birmingham
Hours: Full-time | Approx. 48 hours per week

We are recruiting a Restaurant Reception Host to be the first point of contact at a high-profile restaurant opening in Birmingham, operated by a group behind Michelin- and AA-accredited venues.

This role is central to the guest experience — setting the tone from the moment guests arrive and ensuring smooth communication between reservations, front of house, and the kitchen across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.

The Role

As Restaurant Reception Host, you will oversee the front desk and reservations flow, delivering a warm, polished welcome and ensuring service runs smoothly throughout the day.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Greeting and seating guests with confidence, warmth, and professionalism
  • Managing reservations, waitlists, and table flow
  • Handling phone, online, and in-person booking enquiries
  • Managing guest communications, including follow-ups and confirmations
  • Coordinating closely with front-of-house and kitchen teams to manage covers
  • Handling guest feedback and basic service recovery when required
  • Maintaining high standards of organisation and presentation at the host desk
About You
  • Friendly, articulate, and naturally guest-focused
  • Previous experience in restaurant reception, reservations, or hospitality customer service preferred
  • Highly organised with strong multitasking and communication skills
  • Calm and professional under pressure during busy service periods
  • Comfortable using reservation systems, telephones, and basic POS software
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and peak service times
  • Right to work in the UK
