A prominent healthcare provider in Truro, England is seeking an experienced Physiotherapist for their respiratory & Critical Care team. We are looking for a skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our friendly, busy respiratory & Critical Care Physiotherapy Team at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust. This respiratory post covers Critical care, the respiratory ward and acute NIV. The role also involves providing respiratory education to the wider acute physiotherapy team, alongside a wider team of Respiratory Physiotherapists.
We have a 19-bedded critical care unit at RCHT with a mixed caseload of level 3 and level 2 patients. We have a dynamic, close working AHP team on critical care, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dieticians and Psychologists. The role includes critical care rehabilitation and following complex patients through their rehabilitation journey on to the wards as part of the critical care MDT. The respiratory ward includes an high dependency unit for non-invasive ventilation and working closely with wider respiratory services to support the pathway of patients with both acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
This post is fully supported by the Clinical Lead Respiratory Physiotherapists. We are a proactive team, focused on service development, ongoing education, and training.
We are looking for a team member who can provide decisive and effective Physiotherapy input. We are looking for a physiotherapist who is motivated to develop the respiratory service, whilst delivering effective, up-to-date evidence-based treatment.
To provide a high standard Physiotherapy service to patients at Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust.
To provide specialist respiratory assessment, treatment, and goal setting of patients in an acute setting. To determine clinical diagnosis and identify appropriate Physiotherapy treatment. To maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
To provide clinical cross cover within your team as delegated by your Clinical Team Lead.
This respiratory post includes supporting a caseload on critical care, the respiratory ward and acute NIV. You will complete competencies to independently set up and monitor an acute patient on NIV in conjunction with the Respiratory Consultant.
It also involves participation in follow up clinics and developing the provision of Physiotherapy to patients after discharge from Critical Care.
Support with respiratory education to the wider acute team and participate in appropriate audit and service development projects.
To work flexibly across 7 days, to include on call and weekend shifts.
