Incollaboration with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR)South West Peninsula (SWP) Regional Research Delivery Network to identifyresearch opportunities for Cornwall Hospice Care

Accountablefor the assessment, planning, organisation and ongoing care of researchparticipants to ensure the maximising of protocols and good clinical practice

Develop relationships with other clinical research nurses throughoutthe south west to share findings and best practice, contributing information tothe local clinical research network as appropriate to assist with achievinggroup aims and objectives

Assistin the identification of suitable protocols, taking account of availableresource and skills, to expand Cornwall Hospice Cares clinical researchportfolio

Encourageand support both those new to research and more experienced researchers toenable the achievement of research ambitions, including facilitating studentsin the development and implementation of research projects they are involved inas part of their training programme

Developand co-ordinate training programmes in relation to the study protocols torespond to the learning needs of colleagues including students

Identifybarriers to recruitment to studies, ensuring that issues are escalatedappropriately in order that action plans can be implemented to address them

Leadon developing research links with external teams including NIHR and theUniversities of Exeter and Plymouth, to enhance Cornwall Hospice Carereputation as a research active organisation

Evaluatethe changing needs of the research portfolio within Cornwall Hospice Care, toenable adaptation of the delivery in the light of local audits, nationalguidance and service developments

Presentprogress reports on designated work to members of the research group or toexternal audiences, to disseminate and publicise research findings

Attendthe quarterly Patient Improvement, Research and Innovation (PIRI) meetings whenrequired, to provide consistency and continuity

Fostera positive research culture across both hospices, working collaboratively withthe teams to support all aspects of research activity from data collection toparticipants follow up ensuring high quality, consistent engagementthroughout research
