Overview

We are pleased to be offering an opportunity to join our growing research team in a new role of Research Manager. Based within Cripps Health Centre and working alongside the research and primary care teams, the Research Manager will support the leadership and coordination of the delivery of clinical research activities within the practice and our spoke sites, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory standards, and sponsor requirements. This role involves strategic oversight, financial management, operational management, and team leadership to support a diverse portfolio of commercial and non-commercial studies.

Responsibilities
  • Representing the practice across research networks across the UK.
  • Contract management across a range of studies including financial oversight and reconciliation to contracts.
  • Support spoke sites and other local research active practices or networks.
  • Support the research team in the planning, setup, and delivery of clinical research studies, including participant recruitment, consent, data collection, and reporting.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as NIHR, CRN East Midlands, Research Networks and study sponsors.
  • Ensure all studies are conducted in accordance with GCP and ethical guidelines.
  • Lead on capacity and capability assessments for new studies.
  • Support the strategic development of research within the practice, including funding applications and service expansion.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior staff and trainees.

The University of Nottingham Health Service (UNHS), based at Cripps Health Centre are one of the largest single site General Practices in the UK with a registered population of circa 42,000 patients and a practice team of around 100.

UNHS have been undertaking clinical research for around 15 years and are now recognised as one of the leading Primary Care led research sites in the country. Delivering studies across a wide range of clinical areas and working with a range of sponsors, CROs and academic teams.
