A prominent NHS mental health service provider in London seeks a candidate to join a research trial focused on ADHD treatment in Bipolar and Psychosis. Responsibilities include recruiting participants, managing data, and contributing to research publications. The post holder will join the Centre for Affective Disorders at King’s College London, in conjunction with South London and Maudsley NHS foundation Trust. The post holder will have a leading role in carrying out a randomised controlled trial – SNAPPER – looking at treatment for ADHD in Bipolar and Psychosis. This will primarily involve recruiting participants, conducting clinical assessments, managing data and there will be opportunities to be part of the wider research team, contributing to publications in the field. The post holder will work with the trial team, including the trial manager Prof Mario Juruena, other researchers and Professor Allan Young, who is the Chief Investigator. Professor Young is the Emeritus director of the Centre for Affective Disorders at The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN).
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) provides the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK as well as substance misuse services. We work closely with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London and are part of King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre. Our scope is built on three foundations: care and treatment, science and research, and training. SLaM employs around 5,000 staff and serves a local population of 1.1 million people, with more than 230 services including inpatient, outpatient and community services. We provide inpatient care to around 5,300 people each year and treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark, in addition to substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich.
