Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Administrator to join our team. This pivotal role provides dedicated administrative support to academic colleagues in preparing high-quality research grant applications. The successful candidate will contribute to improving submission quality and success rates.

About the role

You will work closely with Principal Investigators, Heads of Department, and professional services teams and key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and disseminating relevant research funding opportunities.
  • Advising on funder terms and conditions and guiding PIs through sponsor requirements.
  • Supporting the preparation of grant documentation, such as CVs, letters of support, and non-technical summaries.
  • Checking applications for completeness and compliance before submission.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders, including PIs, collaborators, funders, and departmental offices, to coordinate inputs and ensure timely submissions.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a collaborative approach to working with academic and professional colleagues. Prior experience in research administration, grants management, or a related field is desirable. Familiarity with Worktribe or equivalent grant management systems will be an advantage. This is an excellent secondment opportunity.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance. This is a part time role at 50% FTE, 18.25 hours per week.
