A leading NHS healthcare provider in Leeds is seeking a motivated Trainee Reporting Radiographer. This position involves extensive training and development in MSK X-ray reporting, working alongside experienced practitioners. Applicants should possess a BSc or DCR in Diagnostic Radiography and must have strong communication skills and relevant post-qualification experience.
Weare seeking a motivated and experienced Radiographer to join our exceptionaland supportive reporting radiographer team as a Trainee ReportingRadiographer. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experiencedprofessionals passionate about X-ray imaging and the continuous improvementof our reporting service.
Thistraining post is designed to support your development into an enhancedpractice role. On successful completion of the post-graduate reportingcourse, you will independently report a wide range of musculo-skeletal (MSK)X-rays including emergency, inpatient, and GP referrals, and contribute toour Radiographer-Led Discharge (RLD) service. In addition, your willparticipate in clinical sessions and actively support the delivery anddevelopment of the service.
Pleasenote: As you are recruited as a trainee reporting Radiographer you will bepaid at AfC annex 30 band 7 throughout the training period (approximately12-18 months) and will move to band 7 upon successful completion ofpost-graduate qualification, achievement of required competencies andapproval to report autonomously.

As a trainee Reporting Radiographer Practitioner, you will:
Work clinical radiography sessions alongside supported reporting training sessions with supervision and mentorship from Reporting Radiographer Practitioners and Consultant Radiologists.
Gradually develop competencies in interpreting and reporting MSK X-ray examinations.
Undertake the Post-graduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Reporting at the University of Bradford.
On qualifying as a Reporting Radiographer Practitioner, you will:
Work within the clinical departments, undertaking complex X-ray examinations and supporting and promoting the delivery of high quality patient care.
Undertake interpretation and reporting of MSK X-ray examinations from all referral sources.
Advise clinicians of any unexpected or critical findings.
Actively contribute to our Radiographer-Led Discharge pathway in the Emergency Department.
Act as a source of expertise to radiographers and the wider clinical team.
Be involved in the daily organisation and delivery of the radiology service.
Participate in teaching sessions, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
Be actively involved in teaching about plain film acquisition and interpretation to undergraduates, radiographers and trainee radiologists.
