Job summary

A leading healthcare organization in Wales is seeking a Band 7 Renal Services PFI Coordinator to oversee PFI contracts for the Dialysis Service. The successful candidate will manage service delivery, monitor performance, and support improvements. Job description

This post is fixed term for 12 months due to the needs of the service until the 04/01/2027

As a Band 7 Renal Services PFI Coordinator the role will oversee and ensure the effective management of the PFI contracts across the Renal Dialysis Service.

The post holder will work closely with the Renal Matron and is expected to monitor performance, ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and support continuous improvement in service delivery.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job
  1. Service Coordination
    • Oversee and support the delivery of renal outpatient services.
    • Work across primary, community, and secondary care settings.
    • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs), including nephrologists, diabetologists, nurses, dietitians, and social workers.
    • Room management in the renal Unit.
  2. Pathway and Performance Management
    • Facilitate redesign of care pathways to improve patient outcomes and service efficiency.
    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Use tools like value stream mapping and demand/capacity analysis to identify areas for improvement.
    • Work with external contractors to maintain contracts with them and the health board.
  3. PFI Oversight
    • Coordinate aspects of the PFI contract related to renal and diabetes services, ensuring compliance and performance standards.
    • Act as a liaison between clinical teams and PFI partners to resolve issues and implement service improvements.
  4. Education and Patient Engagement
    • Support patient education initiatives around chronic kidney disease and diabetes management.
    • Ensure patients understand treatment plans, lifestyle changes, and available resources.
