Job summary

An established defence manufacturing firm is looking for an experienced SMERAS Systems Engineer to design firefighting and SMERAS systems for next generation Royal Navy submarines. Candidates should have a Degree in a STEM subject and experience in design within safety-critical environments. This role could suit Royal Navy Submarine Service leavers. The position offers a competitive salary range of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum and mostly remote work, requiring 2 days onsite every 2 weeks.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent Level 6 Qualification (ideally within a STEM subject).
• Experience in the design of fixed firefighting systems in safety-critical environments.
• Familiarity with systems and equipment involving firefighting technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design Firefighting and SMERAS systems for next generation Royal Navy submarines.
• Undertake functional design activities, modelling and analysis.
• Produce design documentation and safety justifications.
