Job Title: Remote Bookkeeping – Excel Expert (100% Work From Home)

Location: Remote from Latin America

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $2,500 USD/month paid via transferwise

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Bookkeeper to support the controller and Co founder. This role maintains accurate financial records and supports efficient operations across the organization. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple financial workflows in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Recordkeeping
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records.
    • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and vendor accounts regularly.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable
    • Process and track invoices, ensuring timely payment to vendors and service providers.
    • Generate and send client invoices; follow up on outstanding receivables.
    • Monitor and record all incoming and outgoing payments.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Assist in generating profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Provide financial summaries to support leadership decision-making.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting Support
    • Assist in tracking budget performance and flag variances.
    • Provide input on expense trends to refine forecasts and financial models.
  • Tax & Compliance Assistance
    • Ensure all transactions are properly categorized and documented for tax purposes.
    • Collaborate with external CPAs or tax advisors during audits and tax filing seasons.
    • Track and file sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings as needed.
  • Software & Systems Management
    • Maintain records in accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, AppFolio, Yardi).
    • Use spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets) to track and organize financial data.
    • Identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements to streamline processes.
  • Vendor & Contractor Coordination
    • Communicate with vendors and contractors regarding invoicing, payment terms, and W-9 collection.
    • Ensure proper documentation for all vendor relationships and project-based costs.
Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent organization, communication, and time-management skills
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in QuickBooks or other financial software for accounting and bookkeeping
