Job summary

A well-established financial services firm in Manchester is seeking an experienced Accounting Support Virtual Assistant to provide essential support to their accounting department. The ideal candidate will manage financial transactions, assist in reconciliations, and prepare client invoices while demonstrating excellent attention to detail and written communication skills. This is a remote position and requires proficiency in accounting tools such as QuickBooks and Xero.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting support.
• Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality with sensitive data.
• Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Enter and categorize financial transactions using accounting software.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial statements.
• Prepare and issue client invoices, monitoring receivables and payables.
• Generate financial reports such as P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.
• Assist with VAT returns and other HMRC-related filings.

Skills

Bookkeeping or accounting support experience

Proficiency in cloud-based accounting tools

Understanding of basic accounting principles

Excellent communication skills in English

Proficient with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office
