Relief Support Worker - Rochdale & Surrounding Areas
Job

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible Floating Support team in Rochdale and surrounding areas.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

Floating Support is a service in the Rochdale, Middleton, Littleborough area that supports people in the community. This is not a ‘Domestic Service’ but may include household cleaning/laundry etc. Each person receives support hours depending on needs. These needs may include but not limited to Medication administration, budgeting, trips to the shops, socialising, hobbies, personal care, upkeep of home/tenancy, healthy eating.

This may be any number of hours a week spread over certain days.

Eg: 11.5 hours a week, 1.5 a day, 2 on a Friday for shopping support or 10 hours a week, Mon 4hrs, Wed 3 hrs, Fri 3 hrs etc.

Staff will visit 3 or 4 people we support on each shift.

Candidate should ideally be local with a good local knowledge of the Rochdale, Middleton, Littleboro areas needed.

Candidate MUST be Car driver with full UK Driving Licence in order to support PWS and drive motability vehicles.

What we're looking for :
  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract options :
  • Relief – to cover Annual Leave/sickness etc.

This service is not 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

  • Days: Anytime between 08:00-22:00
