We are looking for a strong compassionate leader to head up our Rehabilitation and Wellbeing team. Location: Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, 185 Bostall Hill, London SE2 0GB. Salary: £44,902 to £57,372 per year. Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Full-time.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Rehabilitation and Wellbeing Team in delivering high quality palliative rehabilitation and wellbeing support to patients and carers. Develop holistic, person-centred care and practical, empowering care plans.
  • Work with colleagues from a range of disciplines within the hospice on the inpatient unit, outpatient and community services; advise the hospital-based team; share expertise to improve care.
  • Build strong, honest relationships with partners across the health and care system and advocate for patients to ensure dignity before, during and after death.
  • Lead and champion the service, ensuring it is seen, heard and valued; support team growth and ensure staff feel confident and capable.
  • Shape and grow the service with senior colleagues; contribute to funding discussions by sharing impact and outcomes.
  • Recruit and develop a brilliant team aligned with organisational values; ensure a respectful, inclusive environment.
  • Ensure safe, ethical care; maintain equipment and records; participate in investigations where required.
  • Visit patients at home, assess needs, and liaise with the integrated neighbourhood team to ensure appropriate support.
  • Promote clear communication within the team and with patients, families and colleagues; ensure information is clear, jargon-free and accessible.
  • Engage in education, training, governance, audits and research to improve palliative rehabilitation and wellbeing.

  • Grief & Loss and Education & Training: support staff, volunteers, patients and families; promote learning and development; provide mentorship and supervision; ensure mandatory training is up to date.
Qualifications
  • Essential: HCPC Registration; recognised qualification in an Allied Health Profession; Diploma/Degree in relevant area; evidence of continued professional development relevant to palliative care.
  • Desirable: Masters level study; Advanced communications skills; Teaching qualification; Moving and Handling trainer qualification.
Experience
  • Essential: Experience in varied settings, supporting people with complex physical needs; experience in teaching/training; leadership and line management; working with multiple stakeholders; change management and clinical audit.
  • Desirable: Specialist palliative care experience; knowledge of mental capacity legislation and related policies.

  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check: role subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975; DBS submission required.
  • UK Registration: current UK professional registration required.
  • Flexible working: role may require work in and from any Hospice or associated premises.
