Job summary

A leading recruitment consultancy is looking for a lawyer with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience for a role focused on regulatory aspects of power and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the commercial team to ensure compliance and manage risks effectively. The role requires attendance in London three days a week, with responsibilities spanning regulatory advising, drafting legal documents, and ensuring project compliance.

Client Details

Our Client is a mult-national energy generation business with power generation assets throughout the UK and Europe.

Description

The responsibilities with this role include:

  • assessing and advising directors and senior team members on regulatory project risks and risk management strategies;
  • advising on, and reviewing and drafting independently and in conjunction with other lawyers and/or external counsel, regulatory documents, procedure, applications and agreements;
  • ensuring that projects and transactions comply with all relevant corporate and regulatory requirements;
  • working closely with and advising the commercial and financial specialists within the team in negotiations and assisting prompt decision-making among key stakeholders;
  • providing proactive legal support to our commercial and operations teams on projects that are in-contract and completed, and assist monitoring of on-going performance to enable the business to anticipate issues and manage risks that may arise;
  • reviewing or performing legal due diligence where required;
  • ensuring the Business', and its directors' / managements', ongoing compliance with their respective responsibilities under law and regulation;
  • instructing, liaising with and working alongside external legal counsel where required, including managing such external legal counsel to ensure that costs are minimised and delivered on budget; and
  • contributing to the know-how of the team, researching and presenting research to other legal team members.
Profile

The successful candidate will be a lawyer (qualified in the UK or equivalent common law jurisdiction) with at least 5 years post qualification experience.

The must have experience in advising on regulatory aspects of power and infrastructure projects in a commercial context.

They will be able and willing to attend the organisation's office in London three days per week.
