Job Description:

Are you an expert in chemical regulation with a passion for guiding companies through complex compliance landscapes?

Do you have management experience, a consultancy background, and want to evolve in a leading Regulatory function?

We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading global consultancy working at the cutting edge of chemical and environmental regulation!

With offices across Europe and North America, their team supports companies navigating evolving legislation and ensuring market access for innovative chemical products, with a knack for hyper complex Registration work around REACH and Pan-REACH regulations.

As their UK operations continue to grow, they are looking to appoint a Director of REACH to lead strategy, manage high-level client work, and mentor a talented team of consultants and scientists.

The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to shape regulatory programs at a global scale while staying deeply engaged with technical and strategic challenges.

Working remotely or in a hybrid capacity from their Manchester base, you’ll collaborate with colleagues across Europe and the U.S. to deliver world-class regulatory consulting services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead point of contact for clients across the UK and EU on REACH and CLP matters.
  • Guide clients through complex regulatory landscapes, including dossier preparation, risk assessments, and ECHA interactions.
  • Oversee the creation of IUCLID datasets and chemical safety reports using CHESAR and related platforms.
  • Monitor emerging UK and EU legislation, advising clients on upcoming risks and opportunities.
  • Manage a cross-functional team, mentor staff, and contribute to broader strategic direction and business development.

Your Profile

  • Advanced degree in a scientific field (e.g. Chemistry, Toxicology, Environmental Science).
  • 10+ years Minimum of direct experience with EU/UK REACH registration, including Annex IX level dossiers.
  • Proven ability to evaluate toxicology, ecotoxicology, and product chemistry studies.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory tools like IUCLID, REACH-IT, and CHESAR.
  • Experienced interacting with ECHA or similar bodies.
  • Prior consulting experience (external or in-house) strongly preferred.

This is an influential, high-impact position with autonomy, flexibility, and the support of a well-established international team. You'll have a seat at the table when it comes to shaping strategy, guiding policy, and mentoring the next generation of regulatory professionals.

If you're driven by both science and strategy, and ready to take your regulatory career to the next level, this could be the ideal next step.
