Registered Nurse – Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU)
Location:Bermuda
Hours:35 per week across days, nights, weekends, and public holidays
Starting Salary:$88,670.83 per annum (approx. £66,295.09)

About the Role

This SCBU Nurse position is ideal for someone confident working within a Level 3 Neonatal setting. You will be part of a team that prioritises safe, evidence-based practice and supports both personal and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialised care to neonates within a Level 3 Special Care Baby Unit
  • Carry out assessments, develop care plans, deliver interventions, and evaluate clinical outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and update senior nursing staff on patient status
  • Take on leadership responsibilities when required and use hospital and community resources effectively
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and approved research within the neonatal service
  • Act as a preceptor to new or junior SCBU Nursing staff
  • Ensure safe and responsible use of neonatal equipment and clinical supplies
  • Attend staff meetings, committees, and in-service training as part of ongoing development
  • Maintain accountability for continuous professional development
  • Undertake additional nursing and delegated medical duties when needed
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited nursing institution
  • Eligibility for registration with the Bermuda Nursing & Midwifery Council
  • Minimum of two years’ post-registration experience as a Level 3 Neonatal Nurse
  • Current certifications: CPR, NICU, IV, and Neonatal Resuscitation Programme (NRP)
  • Strong physical assessment skills and proven clinical competence
  • Up-to-date neonatal nursing knowledge, particularly within Level 3 neonatal care
