Job summary

A healthcare organization in Wisbech is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their Hospice at Home Team. Job description

We are looking for a Registered Nurseto join our Hospice at Home Team! This is a Community role based from the Alan Hudson Centre in Wisbech, working in patients homes across Cambridgeshire. We have full time position available working 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis.

Due to the nature of the role it’s essential for applicants to h old a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle for work

Job responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse you will work as part of a friendly and passionate team to provide professional, patient centred palliative care, ensuring the highest possible standards of care are received by patients, their families and carers. You will lead, support and encourage the sharing of knowledge and skills within the team.

The Hospice at Home service cares for patients across Cambridgeshire who choose to remain in their own home in their last weeks of life. We are holistic in our approach and the care is tailored to each persons specific needs. The compassionate team of Nurses and Healthcare Assistants provide practical and holistic care supporting patients and their families in their homes. You will work directly and alone with patients and families in their own homes, on a shift basis over 7 days.

Colleagues working within our Hospice at Home team cover a wide geographical area, from Tydd St Giles in the North of the county down to Saffron Walden in the South, and everywhere in between. Although allocated to either the South team (Cambridge)or North team (Wisbech)base, colleagues work flexibly as one team in order to meet patient needs wherever they may be. For this reason, we are pleased to offer mileage expense rates in excess of HMRC as well as a lease car option. Whilst every effort is made to allocate patients close to where you live, this is not always possible we ask all of our colleagues to be flexible and attend patients wherever they are located.

Successful candidates will be NMC Registered Nurse (Adult) with post registration experience in palliative or end of life care, be able to work as part of a team and have excellent communication and leadership skills.

Starting salary of £31,049, with opportunities to progress to £37,796.

Please note that the salary quoted is based on full time hours and will be pro-ratad for part time posts. As a Charity with limited funds, it is usual practice for new starters to commence on the minimum of the salary band for the role. Exceptionally, and only for candidates demonstrating significant strengths relevant to the role, we may be able to negotiate on this.
