Working Hours : 35 hours per week

This role is subject to :

  • Qualification : Must hold a Diploma level 3 or above in caring for children and young people.
  • Qualification : Must hold or be willing to undertake and able to attain a Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management within 6 months of appointment.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here. We have a policy on the Employment of Ex-Offenders and it is available upon request.
  • Essential Car Documentation- This post is a designated Essential Car User. Therefore, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work. You will receive the Essential Car User Allowance.

This is an exciting time to join the Children’s Residential Service as we expand our service provision in order to provide the best outcomes for Our Children in Manchester. Our Children have a right to homes where they feel happy, safe and were care givers are aspirational for their futures.

Our Children’s Residential Service are expanding, we are creating a team who will be well supported and skilled in trauma-based approaches to work alongside our children and young people who will have a range of different needs, with a particular focus for children in need of discharge from hospital due to triggers of mental health.

You will manage a 2 bed residential home, full staff team and a team of casual workers, working alongside CAMH's practitioners and other professionals involved in the formulation of plans. The Registered Manager must be able to comply with the Children's Homes regulations and Quality Standards, and have knowledge of evidence-based practice and research in relation to looked after children and experience of regulatory inspections including Ofsted and Regulation 44 independent visits.
