Overview

Job Title: Regional Trainer

Location: Newport and surrounding areas

Salary: £28,000

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week

This role includes travel, therefore you must have a full UK license to apply.

Role Overview

As a Regional Trainer, you will deliver high quality training to new and existing colleagues across a range of mandatory and specialist subjects. You will carry out competency assessments, maintain accurate training records, and tailor sessions to suit different learning styles and experience levels.

Responsibilities
  • Person led Care
  • Deliver training in subjects including: Induction Framework
  • Basic Life Support
  • Medication Awareness
  • Huntington’s Disease Awareness
  • Carry out competency assessments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Keep accurate training records in line with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Continuously update your own knowledge and skills to ensure training is current and compliant.
  • Tailor training sessions to accommodate different learning styles and levels of experience.
  • Promote a culture of person centred, safe, and respectful care.
Great Standards
  • Ensure all training meets regulatory standards set by CIW, Social Care Wales, and the Health and Safety Executive.
  • Champion the use of Trainer Standards and Competency Frameworks.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods including hands on practice, scenarios, group discussion, and virtual delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement through feedback, evaluation, and reflection.
Team
  • Collaborate with the wider Learning and Development team, operational leads, and service managers.
  • Attend team huddles, planning meetings, and CPD sessions.
  • Work closely with local teams to understand service specific challenges.
  • Support new Trainers or cofacilitators where required.
  • Provide professional guidance and encouragement to colleagues during and after training sessions.
The Main Skills and Experience for This Role

Essential

  • Practical experience in a health and social care setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant care legislation and best practice.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Confident in delivering both face to face and virtual training.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Passionate about learning, development, and quality care.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering training within regulated environments.
  • Skills in using learning management systems or elearning platforms.
  • Subject expertise in areas such as autism, Basic Life Support, Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. Level 3 Award in Education and Training, PTLLS, CertEd).
