Job description

This position offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced supervisor or manager who takes pride in delivering exceptional standards and building high‑performing teams, ensuring an environment of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do:
  • Motivate and lead your cleaning team, ensuring all contracted tasks are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and hygiene of multiple environments, including kitchens, washrooms, and communal areas, maintaining full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, and inventory of cleaning consumables and equipment to ensure consistent operational delivery.
  • Take ownership of safety management by identifying and reporting hazards, and conducting regular safety inspections across assigned sites.
  • Manage a team of approximately 25 cleaning operatives, including 3 mobile staff, providing guidance, support, and clear direction.
  • Maintain control of costs and resources to achieve operational budgets and performance targets.
  • Lead on people management tasks, ensuring engagement, performance reviews, and training are effectively delivered in collaboration with the Contract Manager.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, excellence, and customer focus throughout your team.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Demonstrable experience in a cleaning, facilities, or service delivery environment with proven supervisory or management capability.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a meticulous approach to quality and compliance.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety standards within cleaning operations.
  • Computer literate with good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • A proactive, professional attitude with a strong focus on service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Full UK Driving Licence - essential.
Desirable Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 in Providing Cleaning Services
  • BICSc Accreditation
  • CMI Level 3 in Supervisory Management
