Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join the engineering team across the Hornchurch area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who takes pride in delivering a high standard of service within a busy, well-structured commercial environment.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for providing planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault finding, and servicing on a wide range of commercial refrigeration equipment across BP forecourt and retail sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform PPM and reactive maintenance on commercial refrigeration systems
• Diagnose and repair faults on display fridges, freezers, cold rooms, and other cooling equipment
• Respond to breakdowns efficiently and professionally
• Ensure compliance with F-Gas regulations and site safety standards
• Complete service reports and compliance documentation accurately
• Manage parts, materials and liaise with helpdesk teams as required
• Build and maintain strong relationships with site staff and clients
• Take part in an on-call rota (where applicable)

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Refrigeration Engineer
• F-Gas 2079 certification (essential)
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
• Experience with retail, forecourt, or commercial refrigeration equipment (preferred)
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills
