Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
1. Reactive Calls – Air Conditioning Faults
  • Respond promptly to reported air conditioning breakdowns (single, multi, and twin split systems).
  • Diagnose and rectify system faults including electrical failures, refrigerant leaks, sensor issues, or compressor problems.
  • Carry out temporary repairs or full component replacements as required.
  • Provide clear fault diagnosis reports and recommendations to the client or service manager.
2. Reactive Service Calls – Refrigeration Equipment
  • Attend urgent service calls for commercial refrigeration systems (walk‑in chillers, freezer rooms, beer cellars, etc.).
  • Investigate issues such as temperature instability, compressor failure, ice build‑up, or gas loss.
  • Replace or repair components such as thermostats, fans, defrost timers, and pressure switches.
  • Ensure systems are safe and operational before leaving the site.
3. Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) – AC & Refrigeration
  • Conduct scheduled PPM visits on air conditioning and refrigeration units in line with manufacturer and company checklists.
  • Clean filters, evaporators, and condensers; check refrigerant pressures and electrical connections.
  • Test temperature controls, airflow, and cooling performance.
  • Log maintenance findings and identify any components nearing end‑of‑life for preemptive replacement.
4. Chillers and Freezer Room Systems
  • Service and troubleshoot water‑cooled or air‑cooled chillers and large‑scale freezer rooms.
  • Check glycol/refrigerant levels, inspect heat exchangers and pumps, and monitor system pressures.
  • Diagnose issues such as low/no cooling, abnormal noise, or pressure alarms.
  • Liaise with manufacturers or technical support where advanced diagnostics are required.
5. Beer Cellars and Beverage Cooling Equipment
  • Attend faults or perform maintenance on beer cellar cooling systems.
  • Ensure equipment is maintaining appropriate temperature ranges for beverage storage.
  • Repair glycol systems, thermostats, and pipework as needed.
6. Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete service and repair reports electronically or on paper as required.
  • Ensure F‑Gas logs and refrigerant tracking are up to date and compliant with legislation.
  • Inform clients of work completed and any further recommendations or quotations needed.
  • Follow site‑specific health & safety protocols and risk assessments.
