Qualifications

  • Passion or interest in recycling and waste minimisation (advantageous).

Responsibilities

  • Knocking on doors and conducting resident surveys.
  • Promoting food waste recycling and engaging low-participation residents.
  • Educating residents about waste minimisation best practices.
  • Surveying bin stores for provision and future needs.
  • Recording findings using Excel and Outlook.

Job Opportunity: Recycling Engagement Officer

Hourly Rate: £12.40 per hour

Duration: 3 months (ongoing, with view to extend)

Hours: Full time - includes some later shifts (11:00 - 19:00)

Location: Wokingham, Berkshire

We are seeking 2 x Recycling Engagement Officers to support a borough-wide food waste participation campaign in Wokingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a direct impact on recycling rates and waste minimisation while engaging with the local community. You will play a key role in promoting recycling, gathering insights, and helping the borough to meet its Simpler Recycling requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Knocking on doors across the borough and carrying out short resident surveys.
  • Promoting food waste recycling and engaging residents in low-participation areas.
  • Educating residents about waste minimisation and recycling best practice.
  • Surveying bin stores to identify current provision and future requirements.
  • Recording and reporting findings using Excel and Outlook.
