Job summary

A prominent service organization in Coventry is looking for an Administrator to support with medical screening duties for Royal Air Force applicants. This fixed-term role offers a salary of £24,043.50 pro rata, with 23 days' holiday, a supportive team environment, and good training opportunities. Candidates should have prior administration experience and strong IT and customer service skills. This is a full-time position with working hours set at 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

Overview

As an Administrator, you will support with the administrative duties around medical screening of Royal Air Force applicants. You will join a large existing team and play a vital part in supporting with the administration and smooth-running of the process of recruiting appropriate talent to join the Armed Forces. This is a fixed term contract until end of March 2027. Working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between home and our offices in Coventry.

Responsibilities
  • Liaising with applicants, Armed Forces Careers Offices and Medical Experts - answering queries and assisting candidates through the medical aspects of their application
  • Organising and storing paperwork, documents and computer-based information
  • Interacting with third party providers where appropriate, such as candidate, GPs, as part of medical process fulfilment
  • Co-ordination of medical screening
  • Reviewing letters, postal administration and scanning
  • Answering the phone and responding to queries
Essential qualifications/skills/experience
  • Previous administration experience is required
  • Good IT skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong customer service, both face to face and over the telephone
  • Ability to work using own initiative and within a team environment
  • Confidence
Desirable qualifications/skills/experience
  • An understanding of the military would be an advantage, but not essential
