A housing association in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Recruitment Coordinator to manage the recruitment process. This role involves coordinating activities, building strong relationships with colleagues, and providing a positive experience for candidates. The ideal candidate will have experience in recruitment or HR, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for helping people. This is a permanent position offering a salary of £30,673 per annum, with benefits including 26 days annual leave and flexible working.
We're looking for a confident, organised and people-focused person to join our People & Organisational Development Team as a Recruitment Coordinator.
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in helping us attract and welcome new colleagues to Karbon.
You’ll be part of a team that’s passionate about delivering a recruitment experience that’s professional, inclusive and engaging — one that reflects who we are and what we stand for.
You’ll coordinate recruitment activity across Karbon, supporting managers and candidates through every step of the process — from advert to offer. That includes publishing job adverts, collating applications, scheduling interviews, supporting selection activities, issuing offers and managing pre‑employment checks. You’ll make sure everything runs smoothly, professionally and in line with our values, and that every candidate has a positive experience.
You’ll also build strong relationships both inside and outside Karbon, working closely with colleagues across the business, recruitment agencies, colleges and other partners. You’ll attend career fairs and engagement events to help us connect with future talent and promote Karbon as a great place to work.
You’re someone who loves getting things organised and making things happen. You’ve got a great eye for detail, brilliant communication skills and a genuine passion for giving people the best possible experience. You’ve worked in recruitment or HR before — ideally somewhere busy and fast‑paced — and you’re confident using digital systems while always keen to learn and improve.
You enjoy being part of a team and know how to build strong, positive relationships with colleagues. You understand employment law and how it applies to recruitment, and you’re comfortable using your judgement to make decisions that keep things fair and consistent. You handle confidential information with care and sensitivity, because trust matters to you.
You’re proactive and full of ideas for making things better. You can juggle priorities, stay calm under pressure, and keep everything moving so candidates and colleagues have a smooth, positive experience. Most of all, you’ll be passionate about helping people find their place at Karbon and making sure their journey with us starts on the right foot.
You’ll be part of our fantastic People & Organisational Development (Recruitment) Team, led by Melissa Allison, Recruitment Specialist. If you’d like to know more about the role, feel free to reach out to Melissa Allison at melissa.allison@karbonhomes.co.uk.
