Job Summary

We are seeking a candidate with exceptional communication skills to join our welcoming pre‑surgical preparation and reception team in the Theatres department at Kent and Canterbury. The ideal candidate will be IT literate, thrive under pressure in a busy environment, and demonstrate the ability to work accurately and effectively both independently and as part of a team. Multi‑tasking is a key requirement for this role.

We value enthusiasm and reliability and are looking for someone who is resilient and flexible. The successful candidate will be dedicated to delivering a positive experience for all patients and service providers by providing an efficient, confidential, and professional service.

You will also be required to travel to Buckland Hospital in Dover for this role.

Main duties of the job
  • Reception face to face with patients and on the phone;
  • Preparation of notes prior to surgery;
  • Making post‑op appointments;
  • Checking patients in for pre‑assessments and admitting patients for surgery;
  • Discharging patients and performing other administrative duties;
  • Attend Medical Records and access patient notes from across the hospital, liaising with other departments;
  • Work from Buckland Hospital in the Dover Eye Centre Department carrying out similar duties;
  • Being a team player is essential.
