Job description

We are looking for a vibrant, confident person to join the team to help deliver a high quality service in the Cardio‑Respiratory Department based at Colchester Hospital on a part‑time basis. We need key staff, with excellent communication skills and attention to detail, to work here.

We are ESNEFT and we provide hospital and community health services to almost one million people across East Suffolk and North Essex. Our dedicated staff deliver care from acute hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich, community hospitals, surgeries, community clinics and patients’ own homes. Responsibilities
  • Provide a full booking service for patients attending cardio‑respiratory appointments.
  • Work closely with clinical staff from several health service providers.
  • Operate a computerised appointment system to book and reschedule patient appointments.
  • Liaise with medical secretaries, clinical staff and medical records departments to ensure the timely and efficient day‑to‑day operation of all clinics.
  • Maintain an efficient appointment booking system.
  • Future requirements may involve travel across our acute sites.
  • Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only.
Qualifications
  • Basic keyboard skills and a clear, confident telephone manner.
  • Ideally, previous experience in a similar environment within an NHS setting.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and remain calm in difficult situations.
