A busy GP practice in Matlock is looking for an enthusiastic receptionist to join their team. This permanent role offers 10 hours across 2 days per week, with additional hours required for holiday cover. Responsibilities include welcoming patients, handling enquiries, and assisting in the smooth running of the practice. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills and a background in customer service. Compensation is £12.35 to £12.61 per hour post-probation.
An exciting opportunity has arisen at our busy GP practice for an enthusiastic receptionist to join our friendly team.
This is a permanant role, based at Hannage Brook Medical Centre, Wirksworth, working 10 hours over 2 days per week:
The successful applicant will be required to undertake additional hours to cover leave as required. This will include holiday cover for our enhanced access clinics which run on Wednesday evenings (until 8.30pm) and Saturday mornings.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide general assistance to the practice team, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for patients and visitors.
Receive, assist, and direct patients efficiently, helping them access the appropriate healthcare professional or service.
Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries with courtesy and professionalism.
Undertake various administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the practice.
Facilitate effective communication between patients, the primary healthcare team, secondary care, and other healthcare agencies.

General Reception Duties:
Receiving patients at the front desk, dealingwith them in a polite, helpful and friendly manner
Answering the telephone and acting upon thecontent of the call
Receiving and passing on messagesface-to-face, via telephone or computer
Arranging the most appropriate appointment forpatients
Dealing with the registration procedure for newpatients
Contacting patients as instructed by clinicians
General office duties, including dealing withincoming and outgoing mail, sending emails and photocopying
To have a thorough knowledge of all practiceprocedures.
Registrations of new/temporary patientscomputer data entry and medical records.
Process repeat prescription request inaccordance with practice guidelines.
