  • Collaborate closely with character artists, animators and supervisors to ensure rigging specifications and animation workflows are production-ready and artist-friendly.

  • Optimise character assets and systems for real-time performance, including skeletal meshes, control hierarchies and animation data.

  • Help develop and expand our real-time rigging tools and pipeline, ensuring scalability and ease of use.

  • Support and mentor artists in rigging and animation best practices within Unreal.

  • Translate existing assets and animation data for real-time use, including work from both Art Departments and VFX teams.

  • Maintain documentation for rigging and animation workflows to support a consistent pipeline.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in real-time rigging workflows, with a solid understanding of skeletal mesh optimisation, bone hierarchies, skinning, constraints and blendshapes.

  • Proficiency with Unreal Engine’s Control Rig, Animation Blueprints and Sequencer tools.

  • Strong grasp of animation principles and procedural animation techniques.

  • Confident using Maya for rigging and technical animation.

  • Experience with motion capture clean-up and retargeting workflows.

Desirable Experience

  • End-to-end understanding of digital character creation, including modelling, facial rigging, skinning, and cloth/hair simulation.

  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, MEL, or C++) and a variety of content creation tools.
