The Role

As a Support Technician, you will ensure the smooth running of fleet and operational support for Trials Projects and St Kilda resupply, directly contributing to essential site operations.

Day-to-day, you’ll be involved in maintaining and moving equipment around the site, supporting helicopter operations, and assisting with a variety of workshop and field tasks. The role is varied and hands-on, and you’ll need to be flexible and willing to take on whatever the day brings.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conduct of planned and reactive maintenance of site fleet
• Provision of specialist fleet driving and operations for Trials Projects & St Kilda resupply, including period deployments to St Kilda
• Provision of specialist asset movements, including transportation of Classified and Dangerous Goods consignments
• Provision of Aviation Fuel (JET A-1) testing and facility readiness for Helicopter refuelling operations
• Conduct Land Range clearance duties during Trials, including setup of cordons, raising of Range Flags, patrolling the perimeter (4x4 vehicle) and reporting potential intruders

Essential experience of the Support Technician

• Hands-on mechanical or fleet experience (varied levels of experience will be considered due to the unique location)
• Comfortable working in a varied role both inside and outside the workshop
• Willingness to work on operational tasks including handling hazardous materials, beach sweeps, range work, and general fetching and carrying
• Ability to work as part of a small team supporting a wider site operation of 70–80 people

Essential qualifications for the Support Technician

• Full UK manual driving licence

This role is 37 hours per week based at Benbecula (BENS), Scotland.
