Ramp Operations Agent – London Southend Airport Jet Centre

About The Role:

I am a member of the Jet Centre team and work collaboratively to deliver a VIP service to discreet and confidential clientele. I support in the running of the day-to-day operation of the Jet Centre. I ensure consistent, excellent, and professional customer service is always provided to all internal and external customers. I play an integral role in the Ramp and Operations Team by ensuring all ramp and hangar activities are carried out safely and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure standard operating procedures, safe systems of work, and ground operations manual are always followed correctly. Comply with GDPR processes when handling critical business and client information and data.
  • Man operations desk, overseeing a range of administrative tasks to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
  • Serve as the port of call for all ramp/hangar and aircraft operations when on shift. Support the Ramp and Operations Team in ensuring the ramp and hangar duties are always conducted safely and efficiently and take ownership of all aircraft on our ramp, ensuring a safe environment for both the clients and the Jet Centre.
  • Respond to all handling requests appropriately and in a timely manner, whilst supporting colleagues with the full process of actioning a flight’s request. Take control of the daily operational requests into the Jet Centre when on shift.
  • Maintain positive and flexible interactions with stakeholders, providing customers with a high quality and consistent service.
  • Demonstrate physical fitness; the role requires regularly lifting or moving baggage and equipment and working outside in all weather conditions.
  • Support other activities as required in line with London Southend Airport’s ‘One Team’ culture.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Full UK driving licence (required for driving).
  • Previous aircraft ground handling experience.
  • Previous business jet handling experience.
  • Experience working with VIPs, celebrities or sports teams (advantageous).
  • Excellent verbal, non‑verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office programmes.

The Pay Range for This Role is £1,000 - 30,912 per year (London Southend Airport).
