  • MRICS / CIOB preferred, support offered for chartership.
  • Strong consultancy or client-side QS background.

  • Commercially sharp, strategically minded.
  • A UK driving licence and flexibility to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage commercial strategy across multiple live projects.
  • Deliver estimating, BOQs, valuations, and cost reporting.
  • Act as the primary commercial contact for clients.
  • Lead tender processes and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Manage claims and establish commercial risk controls.
  • Mentor junior surveyors and PMs.
  • Expand the client base and secure new revenue streams.

A well-established and independent Leicestershire-based development consultancy is seeking an Associate Director / Head of Commercial to help drive the next phase of their growth.

You’ll be joining a consultancy with a strong and diverse project pipeline across:

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Leadership: Own and manage the commercial strategy across multiple live projects.
  • Pre & Post-Contract Expertise: Deliver estimating, BOQs, valuations, cost reporting, and final accounts.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary commercial contact, ensuring high client satisfaction and generating new opportunities.
  • Procurement & Contract Management: Lead tender processes, subcontractor negotiations, and contract administration (JCT & NEC).
  • Risk, Claims & Change Management: Assess variations, manage claims, and establish commercial risk controls.
  • Team Development: Mentor junior surveyors and PMs, setting standards and supporting career progression.
  • Business Growth: Play a pivotal role in expanding the client base and securing new revenue streams.
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or similar.
