Job description

Envelope Labour Solutions is working with a leading construction company that specialises in housing regeneration. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join the growing team.

Job Summary

This role will provide the team in Yorkshire & East Midlands with commercial expertise and be responsible for the financial delivery of refurbishment projects to ensure that it is procured and delivered within budget and to the highest quality.

From early design costs to final figures, quantity surveyors seek to minimise the costs of the project and enhance value for money whilst ensuring that the project meets all legal and quality assurance requirements and regulations.

Daily Responsibility
  • Responsible for day to day cost control, monitoring and reporting across applicable project(s).
  • Measure progress, submit valuations, run final accounts through to retention release and monitor receipt of payment in accordance with the contract.
  • Liaise with the buyer on material procurement and effective buying opportunities.
  • Take the lead on subcontractor procurement and commercial management.
  • Build strong relationships internally and externally.
Essential Skills
  • Degree in QS or similar.
  • Member of RICS.
  • Methodical thinker.
  • Good knowledge of construction.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent financial and numeracy management skills.
