Overview

Quantity Surveyor required for leading civil engineering projects in the water sector.

Our client is a well-established contractor with an excellent reputation in delivering major civil engineering schemes across the UK. They are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team and support the delivery of a key water infrastructure project based in Swindon.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced QS with strong civils and water sector experience to join a business that offers long‑term career development, hybrid working, and the chance to play a vital role in major infrastructure schemes.

Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering projects (ideally within the water / utilities sector)
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3 / NEC4)
• Background with either a main contractor or subcontractor
• Excellent analytical, commercial and negotiation skills
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
• Chartered (MRICS) or working towards chartership (desirable)

Duties include

• Commercial management of a major water infrastructure project
• Preparing and managing cost plans, forecasts and reports
• Administering and managing NEC contracts
• Liaising with clients, contractors and stakeholders to ensure compliance and value for money
• Assessing subcontractor applications, variations and payments
• Supporting procurement strategies and risk management for the project delivery team
