Overview

Here at the Mick George Group we are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join the team.

Location: Huntingdon/ Site Based

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am – 5pm

Pay: Dependent on experience at the managers discretion

About the Role

To manage the day to day running of the commercial elements of contracting projects, working as part of the wider site team to maximise profit and reduce risk to the business.

Main Responsibilities
  • To oversee the day-to-day commercial control of projects.
  • To be responsible for reviewing contractual terms and administering the contract throughout the life of the project.
  • To procure subcontract packages timeously in line with scope of works as well as mitigating contractual risk to the business
  • To procure materials in line with project requirements.
  • To submit accurate valuations to clients and actively seek requests for payments from clients.
  • To measure subcontract works and issue payment certificates in line with contractual requirements
  • To accurately report cost and value in line with the financial timetable
  • To raise risks, opportunities, and concerns with senior management at the earliest opportunity
  • To close out the commercial elements of projects through to final account with clients and subcontractors
  • To maintain client relationships
  • To seek opportunities for new and continued work.
  • To be aware of the health and safety responsibilities on site and raise items of concerns with site management or senior management.
  • To provide support and advice to less experienced members of the team.
  • Always conduct themselves in a professional manner as an ambassador of Mick George Group
  • Complete any adhoc requests.
